was his CONVERSE not dirty enough?

Woody Allen once said, "tragedy + time = humour.I'd like to believe him.But still,i don't see it happening.

The tragedy: a suicide.

The time: 13 years.

The humour: not even a pinch.

Back in my day, we didn’t have fancy-pants mp3 players. If we wanted to listen to music, we had to wait until the song came on the radio and taped it using a blank cassette. In conclusion, kids today aren’t the same. They should be more like my generation, my generation kicked so much ass and we carried walkman around, and it wasn’t even funny.

Among those in my playlists were the ilk of Frente, U2..ok, so Tommy Page was in there too..yadayada..(did you say NKOTB? nada, maybe it was on YOURs?)..and of course, later on there was Nirvana! By now, most of my generation had upgraded themselves with a much cooler gadget-the CD player..my, didn't we come a long way.

Aaah..Nirvana,i fell head over heel in love with 'em when i first heard 'Lithium'.Nobody would have noticed. They were the band whom i thought were able to incorporate pop, punk and hard rock elements like nobody before (or since).Their songs were catchy and ooh wasn't Kurt's voice the sexiest ever? The kinda voice where you just wanna swig in your tequila and imagined hard to be Courtney 'Polly'.

Nirvana's authenticity in music was undeniable.Their fan base was massive. And they were THE original "slackers".You might not agree with me, but hey, who the hell wears the "grunge" look better than these fuckers?!
(Psst..and who CAN wear their scruff better than Cobain, and not looked like some sniggering nincompoop? No, not those "mat-mat" that you saw on our streets. The best that our mats can grow on their chin is only a goatee shaped like the pubic hair!!)

Unfortunately, the next Nirvana is never coming.Losing Kurt was as bad, if not worse, than losing John Lennon.I think it's fair to say that Cobain and Lennon were at creative turning points when they both met their demise.
Kurt's departure was obviously a paradox-it was hard to fathom why would someone that was blessed with so much talent, which at times does not seem fair to the rest of us commoners that people like him existed, took upon his own life.Sad...

But, in overall legacy, John Lennon is hard to touch. He was a God.I won't contest to this.
But again, I'd be fine with Yoko sitting on Lennon for the rest of my days if I could've heard just one more Nirvana album.

Rip Mr.Cobain, you'll forever be missed.
